Gurugram Metro: 2.2 km stretch near Hero Honda Chowk awaits utility shifting till November

Work on a 2.2 km section of the new Gurugram Metro, between Hero Honda Chowk and Umang Bhardwaj Chowk, has not started because utilities still need to be moved. These include a large NHAI water pipeline, 66 kV power lines and 17 electrical feeders, along with some building demolitions near the Sector 10 and Sector 37 stations. GMRL has set November 2026 as the deadline to clear the stretch, and the issue is being tracked at the PMO level.
GMRL's chairperson and CEO inspected the site on August 23. Elsewhere, Phase 1 covers 15.22 km with 14 stations, and U-girder launching was planned from late August. Phase 2 has World Bank approval for Rs 1,409 crore of funding.
For buyers eyeing Old Gurugram and nearby sectors, the metro is progressing, but timelines on this section are worth watching.
