Fresh project report sought for SPR elevated corridor from Ghata to Vatika Chowk

GMDA has reopened planning for the elevated corridor on the Southern Peripheral Road, inviting consultant bids for a fresh detailed project report on the 6 km stretch between Ghata Chowk and Vatika Chowk. This is part of a larger 12 km elevated corridor linking Ghata Chowk with NH-8, and the report is expected within three months of a consultant being appointed.

A Rs 755 crore construction tender for the Vatika Chowk to NH-8 section, floated earlier in 2026, is pending after a bid was withdrawn. A GMDA official said repeated redesigns since 2019 have pushed up costs and delayed work. Once the report is approved, tenders will follow for a signal-free corridor on the lines of Dwarka Expressway.

For buyers along SPR and Golf Course Extension Road, this is progress, but timelines remain uncertain, so plan with patience.
