CCTV surveillance coming to Dwarka Expressway intersections

NHAI has given GMDA permission to install CCTV cameras at major intersections on Dwarka Expressway, following a request from the police. Junctions covered include Allen Mall, Basai Sector 37D, Basai, Sector 101, Dhanwapur, Daulatabad, Bajghera and Sector 108, with six to eight cameras at each as needed.

This is part of the city's second phase of 2,722 cameras, including number-plate recognition, red-light violation detection and speed radar units. GMDA aims to build a network of 4,287 cameras by December 2026, with automated challans for offences such as jumping signals and wrong-way driving.

For buyers along the expressway, better traffic discipline and round-the-clock monitoring add to the safety and liveability of these fast-growing sectors.
